Discussion question:
How did Greg's childhood and his devotion to his sister influence his attempt to climb K2?
If I grew up in the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro and climbed it with my dad at age 11, I think I'd be hooked on mountain climbing. Also, Greg loved his little sister and cared for her for several years before she died. When my husband died, I re-hiked/climbed a trail in the Rockies with my sons that we had all hiked together and it just felt right--a physical way of dealing with grief. I think people hold on to tangible things (like her necklace) and re-do events that you had once shared with someone who died. (staff)
What do you think?
